Being light yet stable, the Lumen 98 has versatility down to a science. She shines in chopped up crud yet will be a great partner on a few fresh inches.

Why It Shreds: One word comes to mind when you ski the Lumen 98, playful. Years past we have raved about the 99 Lumen pop and easy turn initiation. The 98 Lumen offers the features that we love about the Lumen with a new dash of fun, uphill capability. Keeping the cork inserts insuring that the Lumen 98 keeps its fun pop yet ability to shred down what you are demanding it to. The Lumen 98 excels in curd and chop with a dash of few inches of freshies. While it can handle on piste we would reach for a ski that has a bit more weight in icy conditions.

Who It's For: Advanced to Spicy Shredders that now how to unleash the Lumen 98 in all of her glory. Girlies who live on experience soft snow / spring conditions will have a blast. For those of you who are more intermediate make sure to try the Lumen 92 and the Black Pearl 94.

Black Pearl 94 Blizzard Women's Skis

Overview: The Black Pearl is a bit of a classic when it comes to women's skis. This year Blizzard mixed things up a bit (more on that later) by making their Black Pearl a 94 mm. Making it still a great daily driver. Redesigned with women's TrueBlend woodcore and FluxForm W.S.D. construction the Black Pearl is why at some point in their skiing ladies will reach for the Black Pearl. Easy to turn, yet stable and a great partner to progress and begin to adventure off piste with.

Why It Shreds: At a 94 waist the Black Pearl can handle icy patches while being able to enjoy a few freshies. She doesn't require high speed and aggressive skiing to be in control yet allows you to push her to your new found limits. The Black Pearl 94 does well on piste and wants to accompany you to side hit adventures.

Who It's For: Skiers who are intermediate to advanced will love the Black Pearls control and easy turn ability. An excellent ski to progress and gain confidence while exploring new terrain. For spicer riders check out the Secret 96 and the Peak 98 by Bode.

Why It Shreds: The middle child between the big mountain 102 Secret and the 88 Kenja the Secret 96 is goldilocks just right. A true all mountain ski that could care less on what the snow or curd is underneath she will grab and grip not making you question. Be sure to be on edge and in the driver seat or she will drive you.

Who It's For: Advanced and spicy riders will enjoy the stiffness and aggressive approach to the Secret 96. Favoring a longer turn radius its easy to see why shredders are happy with the new updates from Volkl. Beginners and intermediates may find this ski to be a bit aggressive.

Overview: Peak Skis by Bode is a new kid on the block yet has legendary backings. A true all mountain ski with some serious versaility built in. The Peak 98 is a daily driver that is hard to put back on the wall. Great in soft snow? Check. Excellent edge control? Check. Great on and off piste? Check. High speed stability? Check. If you are looking for a true one and done ski with limitless capabilities check out the Peak 98.

Why It Shreds: When we demoed the Peak 98, we didn't want to give it back seriously. It is rare when something lives up to the hype and that's exactly what Peak has done with their 98. The ski almost feels intuitive and able to turn on a drops notice regardless of what speed you are pushing. Able to float without losing the stability was pleasant surprise. If you are able to get your hands on a pair, don't pass the chance to give them a try.

Who It's For: Advanced and spicy shredders will appreciate the bells and whistles that Peak 98 has thrown in. A ski that really feels like there was some serious thought that went in. We found that Peak 98 excelled in the off piste and eat up whatever we threw in front of her.

Head Kore 97 W ~ Head

Overview: Most people know Head skis for their deep race heritage (hello Lindsey Vonn) recently Head is making waves with their freeride line up. The Head Kore 97w is light to keep you going all day, and a force to be reckon with when it comes to your top speed. With graphene infused into the ski her stability is hard to bet, yet smooth enough to whip around at a moment's notice thanks to her light Karuba wood core.

Why It Shreds: It's not often that a ski leaves you with that wow feeling, the Head Kore 97w did just that. Sometimes you just want to bomb the hill as fast as you can, the Head Kore 97w is that ski that can handle your top mph while not once chattering back. The lightness of the 97w offers a great option for those of you who live in areas that have better snow quality days more often than not or makes for a fantastic spring ski.
The sister to the Head Kore 99 (male) Head really went full throttle when creating the 97 w. With freeride visions with a dash of Head's race history it's easy to feel that in the ski. Excellent turn initiation, this ski allows you to whip it around when in a pinch yet has oomph to her when you need something stable under you. Those of you who have frequent freeze melt cycles will enjoy the 97w on corn snow. Ski somewhere with a bit more ice? Check out the Peak 98 or the Black Pearl 94. It is important to note those of you who are searching for a true 97 waist ski be sure to know that waist is true for 170 cm ski length and above.

Who It's For: Even though the Head Kore 97w is a lightweight powerhouse she does require an aggressive skier. With a longer turn radius than others on the list she likes to take the fall line straight on. For those of you who are not looking for a ski that will require fast speeds check out the Lumen 98 and the Black Pearl 94.
